Ufa is the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan or simply Bashkiria home of the Bashkirs, a Muslim Turkic people very close relatives to the Tatars in Tatarstan. As Tatars jokingly say, a Bashkir is a Tatar but a bit untamed. So came, that Ufa has no prominent sights of interest but the city is a pleasant quiet place for a one-day walk.
